Drone Registry Information will be Made Available to the Public

Your Registered Eye in the Sky will be Observable to the Public

By Mark J. Donovan

The FAA has confirmed that information logged in its new UAV / Drone registry program will be open to the public. Meaning, the information gathered from everyone who registers a drone will be available to the public. The only information that will be withheld will be email addresses and credit card information. In regards to who needs to register their drone, any drone that weighs between 0.55 lbs and 55 lbs will need to be registered in this program.

It is important to note that this registry program is no different than what is already currently done for traditional aircraft owners. Visit this website and type in any tail number of an aircraft. You’ll quickly see the aircraft owners name, address and specifications about the aircraft.

Although some may have privacy concerns about this new UAV registry program, it should help to put any drone owner/operator on notice about using their drone in a malicious or reckless way. For example, any person that sees a drone being operated in some questionable manner will have the ability to look up in this database for any registered drones in their area and be able to contact their local police department and/or FAA to report the problem and prospective perpetrator.

Again, this same type of registry and private citizen capability already exists today for standard aircraft. For example, if a pilot flies a small plane over a congested area under 1,000 feet above the ground, he or she can expect to hear from the FAA in short order if someone on the ground records the aircraft tail number.

So, although the forced registry of your drone and having some of your personal information made available to the public may sound like you’re registering as a sex offender, it shouldn’t be personally taken that way, unless you indeed have those intentions. It is simply putting you on par with every other owner of traditional aircraft for the public’s safety, and in the case of drones, public privacy.

The Rise and Swarm of the Mini-Drone Forebodes a Frightening Real Future

By Mark J. Donovan

Back in May of 2015 there was a report that came out about U.S. military scientists who had come up with a new drone that can fit in the palm of your hand, and that can be deployed in large swarms from aircraft, balloons, or even a large mother drone. The mini-drone is called “Cicada” after the notorious loud and swarming insect. The Cicada name is an acronym for Covert Autonomous Disposable Aircraft.

The Cicada mini-drone has no propulsion system. It is simply a glider that is released from a mother aircraft and flies a prescribed mission profile. After flying its mission, it eventually ends up on the ground at a designated target area. While flying, and on the ground, the Cicada mini-drone can listen and observe targets of interest. The Cicada is also equipped with sensors for measuring and reporting temperature, humidity, and air pressure. Moreover, it can be outfitted with a plethora of other sensors for measuring and transmitting back data.

Because of its small size, and the fact that it is released in swarm quantities, full detection and destruction of Cicada mini-drones by enemies is highly unlikely. Thus, the Cicada makes a very effective surveillance tool. Moreover, at a targeted cost of only $250 each, the Cicada mini-drone, even in swarm quantities, is an extremely inexpensive military surveillance tool.

Though the Cicada mini-drone represents public state-of-the-art drone technology news, there is no doubt that numerous government defense agencies around the world are investing heavily to further shrink and empower this surveillance drone technology. MicroElectroMechanical systems (MEMs) and even NanoElectricalMechanical systems (NEMS), a.k.a. “smartdust or nanodust”, are already in development that will eventually enable nano-drones of the future to be invisible to the naked eyed. So small in fact, that they could literally and unwittingly be ingested into a living body, from which then anything is possible. The nano-drone, if you will, could be used for anything from surveillance to medical diagnosis and therapy, to even life termination if so programmed or command to.

Suffice it to say drone technology is still in its infancy, and the latest social, logistical and legal issues facing the use of this technology are just the tip of the iceberg. In the not too distant future, expect nano-drone technology and all of its pros and cons to become real and public. And when it does, be prepared to live in a very different world. Where the phrase personal privacy is a giggle at best.

The Tecnam P2010 Receives U.S. Part 23 Type Certification from the FAA

By Mark J. Donovan

If you’re looking for a new high wing, four-seater aircraft, that is ideal as a trainer and for general aviation/purpose flying, and want something different and better in performance than a Cessna Skyhawk, you’re in luck. The Italian company Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam just received U.S. Part 23 type certification on its Tecnam P2010 aircraft. This is a very big milestone. To put it in perspective, it has been 47 years since the last four seater high wing aircraft received U.S. Part 23 type certification.

The P2010 looks very similar to the Cessna Skyhawk, but smoother and sexier. With a carbon-fiber fuselage and aluminum wing, and a 180 horsepower Lycoming IO-360 engine, it also provides a higher cruising speed that is closer to the Cessna 182 Skylane. The Tecnam P2010 has a rated cruise speed of 140 knots and a range of 715 nautical miles, and burns about 11 gallons an hour in fuel. And in regards to fuel, the P2010 can use 100LL or 91 octane mogas (low lead, ethanol free automotive gas). It also has a maximum useful load of 992 lbs, and a maximum ceiling height of 15,000 feet.

The P2010 is also equipped with a full glass cockpit, based around a Garmin G1000 avionics system.

In regards to price, the base model costs $345K, however the price can approach $400K when an autopilot and constant speed prop are added to the customer dream-sheet.

So if you’re in the market for a new high wing, four-seater aircraft that has speed, looks and increased useful load capacity, and is priced below a brand new Cessna 172 Skyhawk, check out the Tecnam P2010 aircraft. It’s a dream aircraft that takes advantage of modern technology, and that quite frankly, has been a very long time in coming. You should be able to purchase it in the United States in the very near future.

You're Clothing May Someday Power Your Wearable Electronics

Using nanotechnology researchers at Case Western Reserve University have developed a way to enable clothing fabric to act as a battery for powering wearable electronics. More specifically, they have demonstrated the ability to weave flexible capacitors into clothing fabric. A capacitor is akin to a battery, but affords the ability to store and release energy much faster.

Their testing to date has shown that the nano-sized capacitors continue to hold up their storage potential even after 1,000 charge/discharge cycles and hundreds of 180 degree folds of the fabric.

When this technology is eventually combined with integrated nano-sized solar collection cells woven into the clothing fabric, I would expect that all of our wearables, external and internal, should be capable of being powered from our clothing.

See the full article on this new break-through in nanotechnology here.

FAA Launches Drone Registration on 12/21/15

If you own a drone already or expect to own one by 12/21/15, and it weighs between 0.55 lbs and 55 lbs you will need to register it with the FAA by 2/19/16. See the full article here.

As a private pilot I can understand and appreciate why the FAA is doing this. The last thing a pilot wants to see when coming in on final is a meter wide drone flying in his or her flight path. Hundreds could be killed in an instant if a drone gets sucked into an engine on a 747.

Also, registering drones should hopefully help curtail the amount of voyeurism that will inevitably occur with this technology. We are already hearing cases of it happening today. Undoubtedly we will see a lot more, but at least by registering the drones there will be a better chance of locating and bringing to justice the perpetrators.

Report of Middle Eastern Men Arrested on Border Carrying Steel Cylinders

A very interesting article came out yesterday titled "Middle Eastern Men Arrested Near Mexican Border with Steel Cylinders". See the article from Judicial Watch.

Can't help but wonder what they may be carrying in those steel cylinders. For anyone that hasn't read my new book WATERKILL. They should. What WATERKILL suggests as a possibility may very well be arriving on our country's doorstep sooner than we think.

Interview with Author – Mark Donovan

Here is a link to an online interview I had with BookGoodies.com in regards to my new book release of WATERKILL. See my interview here.

Why I Wrote WATERKILL and NANO SURVEILLANCE

People ask me why I wrote WATERKILL and NANO SURVEILLANCE. There are a number of reasons why. However, the main reason is, is that I believe the United States is under attack from within. More precisely, I believe that Washington DC, and in particular the White House, are at the epicenter of where the attack is originating from. And who are the perpetrators? Global politicians who care less about the USA, and more about a single global government, and their own specific powers that they can garner.

So in short, I wanted to educate the American public, and the world, on what threats and technology are available today, or could be so in a very short time, that put the USA and the world at high risk.

Nanoscience is one of the technologies, that though offers many incredible possible benefits to mankind, also offers major social concerns and risks to the public. For example, nanotechnology provides incredible surveillance and medical benefits, but if used in appropriately by the wrong people, could also be used to encroach upon individuals privacy and to spread biological epidemics.

Case in point, look at the now ubiquitous consumer drone. This meter in diameter toy is being used as a new voyeur tool by private citizens. Imagine when that drone is only the size of a fly, or smaller. If you can't imagine it, then simply do a Google search. They already exist, and they are getting smaller by the day. Thus why I wrote NANO SURVEILLANCE. Simply put, your government, and anybody else that wants to, can and will soon be observing your every move.

Its a similar story with nanotechnology used in medicine. Nanoscience is used today in medicine to precisely deliver medicines into the human body and for fighting cancer. Similarly, it could also be used as a vehicle for spreading massive pandemics. Thus why I wrote WATERKILL.

Below is a summary of what I have observed actually happening in the U.S. in the past seven years, and quite frankly, the impetus for writing both NANO SURVEILLANCE and WATERKILL.

Is anyone else out there realizing that we have a White House that has systematically been drilling holes in our defenses?

What does one expect when someone keeps drilling holes in a dam wall? You drill enough holes and eventually the water pressure behind it causes the dam wall to collapse, flooding the valley below. This is what we have been witnessing for the past 7 years in our country, but due to ignorance, arrogance, or political correctness very few seem to be able to see, hear, appreciate or say what this means. Well I'm saying it. In the past 7 years I have heard, seen, and observed the following:

1) A decimation in our armed forces, both in the size and management of it. Many top officers have been forced to resign or retire in the past several years, leaving a weakened Pentagon and military to protect us.

2) A military where our fighter jets flying only a handful of daily sorties over Syria and Iraq have to wait for approval from the White House to hit a known target, and only after they drop leaflets saying "please leave your vehicles first" so that we can bomb them.

3) A White House that is silent at best for standing up and supporting our nations police officers. Yes, there is the occasional bad one, but the vast majority are doing their job to protect us. I've never heard the White House say this.

4) US. border patrol and ICE told to stand down and let anyone and anything cross the border.

5) FBI, NSA and CIA staff reductions and prevention of them using various communication tools/methods to more quickly act to prevent terror attacks from happening.

6) The continued allowance to have safe cities to harbor known illegal aliens/criminals against federal laws.

7) A White House that is silent on the state legalization of drugs, even though they violate federal law. In NH alone, 290 deaths have been caused this year by drug overdoes of Opioid drugs. This was reported just yesterday in NH, and is expected to reach 360 by year end. Another 70 are expected to die in NH alone by the end of December, due mainly to a Heroin problem. And this issue is rampant all around the country. But silence. Silence from the White House and silence from our own Governor. Is it that we have a White House that is just hip on "recreational" and "medical" drug use, or could it be we have a White House with a more sinister motive. The zombification of as many millennials, and others, as possible. So they are in effect, anesthetized to what's happening  around them.

8) Constant race bating by the White House, where as a result, the country has turned back 50 years in race relations. Seven years ago, we were much closer to a single melting pot of people.

When putting all these pieces together, anyone with even just a few remaining active brain cells should be able to clearly see that we have a White House intent on destroying America, not "Changing America". And sadly, he's getting away with it. I pray for this country to survive one more year.

Mark Donovan Announces the Release of “Waterkill”

“Waterkill” Weaves Nanoscience and Cult Religious Terrorism into a Major Threat to Western Civilization

An Action Packed Cerebral Thriller that Spans Three Continents, “Waterkill” is the second book in the Dave Henson Series

Derry, New Hampshire - November 17, 2015 – Mark Donovan announced today the release of his second novel, “Waterkill”, a fast paced 300 page thriller.

With the mysterious outbreak of a deadly disease in a Yemeni village, followed by an increase in terrorist chatter after the crash of a small airplane in eastern Alaska, CEO Dr. Dave Henson and colleague Ron Blackwell of NSurv Inc. are tapped by the Department of Homeland Security to locate the aircraft wreckage and its suspected deadly contents.

While Henson and Blackwell are in the eastern mountains of Alaska helping the U.S. Border Patrol locate the missing aircraft and its contents, Henson’s wife, internationally known journalist Dana Cogswell, goes missing while covering another sudden and suspicious epidemic in a small town in Germany.

Henson races from Alaska to Germany to rescue Dana and ends up on a quest to the Middle East to find her. Along the way he learns of a shocking betrayal of friendship and that the path to his wife ultimately leads to the terrorist leader behind the deadly outbreaks.

“As the world focuses its concerns on the threat of nuclear attacks from rogue nations and terrorist organizations, other types of technology provide just as real a danger to the public,” says author Mark Donovan. “Waterkill explores the field of Nanoscience and how it could be exploited to enable the synthetic creation of common diseases for conducting pandemic bioterrorism attacks.”

“Waterkill is a thriller that will keep you on the edge from the beginning until the end. Since I got emerged into this book from the first paragraphs, it gets 5 stars out of 5.” - Ionela Hamz

"Waterkill" can be purchased in paperback for $13.99 and eBook formats for $3.99 through Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Review copies available to qualified reviewers and booksellers.
